This action-packed trip is a twist on the traditional hiking paths to Machu Picchu, allowing you to enjoy a variety of fun outdoor activities. Do some whitewater rafting on Class III and IV rapids, zoom down a mountain trail by bike, and fly through the sky on a zipline ride. You’ll also travel past amazing Inca ruins and admire incredible scenery, ranging from alpine peaks to lush jungle.

We will then begin our bike descent, crossing different ecological zones such as Puna and Cloud Forest, both having a huge range of flora and fauna. After 3 hours of biking downhill, we will finish our bike journey at the archaeological remains of Huaman Marq’a. Here we will take the van again and drive 25 minutes to the town of Santa Maria (approximately 1,200m / 3,937ft). From this town we will continue by bus 40 more minutes until santa Teresa village where we will spend our first night, leaving our baggage in the hostal we have an option to go to the hot springs.
Shuttle to Abra Malaga: 3½ hour by bus from Cusco.

Biking time: 3½ to 4 hour approximately.
Climate: Cold at the beginning of the biking and very hot in the night.

Once we reach the Power Plant and have some rest and get lunch, we will continue our trip two more hours as we reach to our final destination today to Machu Picchu pueblo known as “ Aguas Calientes” town (At the foot to citadel of Machu Picchu) arriving here at 5.30:00pm approximately.

If you have booked Wayna picchu, you will need to coordinate with your guide for Machu Picchu visiting depending on your scheduled time to the mountain, for people not hiking any of the mountains there are some other optional activities on your own (not included in the price):
Visit the Sun Gate: You will have an opportunity to walk (approx. 2 hours up and down) up to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) to see Machu Picchu from a different angle.
Hike to the Inca Bridge: The Inca Bridge offers a dose of adventure for your next Machu Picchu visit. However in this case, the adventure is a little less strenuous, but a lot more death defying, not for people with vertigo.
Train back to Cusco: In the afternoon you will return to the train station in Aguas Calientes for the trip back to Ollantaytambo. Upon your arrival to train station you will be transferred by car to your hotel in Cusco.
