We will cross 4 different mountain passes, experience diverse landscapes, enter remote Andean culture and see an unforgettable night sky.  Of course, we will also experience the breathtaking Rainbow Mountain and Red Mountain valleys one of the most beautiful and timeless, natural landscapes in all South America and the world. This trek is for those who have experienced hiking and don’t have plenty of time; basically, you will hike the entire day. You will cross 3 mountain passes, hike through hundreds of roaming alpaca and llama, and you walk through beautifully diverse views that changes daily from snow-capped peaks to neon red desert mountains, to marshy pampas. The real reward, however, is when you reach the Rainbow Mountain, hidden deep in the Andes. standing for a rainbow,  this mountain is so striking.  it will leave blow you away. CONSIDERATIONS: This trek that we offer, is isolated and rugged. We advise you to get used to the altitude by spending at least three days in Cusco (3,500meters /11,000feet). As well, you should be in good physical condition and be experienced hikers. the Weather and the trail conditions can vary in different seasons due to deceptive mountain weather systems and conditions.

Itinerary

Day 1Cusco - Upis - Yana Qocha.

We pick you up from your hotel at 4:30 am to leave the city of Cusco, we will then have three and a half hours driving to get Upis town, along the way we will see picturesque towns, and we will stop for a couple of times to enjoy the sceneries, once we arrive in Upis (the headtrail, 4,350m/ 14,272ft) we will meet up our local muleteers and horses, where we’ll have our breakfast and get ready to start the great adventure, we will hike gradually uphill for about 2 hours and 30 minutes following the highland valley inhabited by llamas and alpacas with dramatic vistas of Ausangate in backdrop to get the lunch spot located in Pamparapa (4,600m / 15,092 feet). Today, we’ll have lunch at a very scenic spot still with Ausangate Mt at the background. After eating the delicious meal, we’ll still hike up for about 3 hours and 30 minutes to get the first campsite, called Yana Qocha 4,650 m / 15,256 ft, from lunch spot well hike for two hours to get the first pass called Arapa pass 4,800 m/ 15,748 ft, at this point we’ll be impressed by stunning views of eroded mountains, and highland valleys. We will then hike downhill for 1 hour and 30 minutes to get the campsite, a place with amazing views around of the Ausangate mountain. All meals included.

Day 2Yana Qocha - Puca Qocha - Ananta

we will wake you up at 5 am with coca tea or coffee delivered to your tent and you are given delicious breakfast for the day ahead. In The morning start hiking to Puca Cocha. Along the way we are going to observe local farmers and alpacas, Ausangate snow-capped to your left side, and you will have English speaking guide explaining about flora, fauna and talking about the landscape along the trail. if we are lucky we might see condor, chinchillas, and vicuñas. Also, we will enjoy colorful lakes we hike up to Arapa pass which is at 4989 masl(16567 feet) from where we will have an amazing view of colorful mountains. Then hike down to our campsite of Ananta where we are going to be surrounded by high mountains,! As usual, tents are going be set up for us to change, take a nap and have our lunch and dinner prepared by our professional chef.

Day 3Ananta - Rainbow Mountain - Cusco.

Today is the day you have been waiting for. We will wake you up at 03:45 am with coca tea delivered to your tent then we start with first uphill until Ananta pass(15,090ft-4500m-14,000feet)from where, you see this amazing Rainbow Mountain in the distance, but you are not quite there yet! From this place you go downhill to circle the lake and keep walking a Peruvian flat until we reach the final uphill to the Rainbow Mountain then we have 360 views of the spectacular landscape which surrounds you, Soak in the vistas and enjoy as much as possible the place. on our last day, we will go downhill to the Qesuno town enjoying more colorful landscapes. Today after our last supper we say goodbye to our horseman and the chef and get back to Cusco where you will be dropped off at your hotel around 6 pm.
