Itinerary

Day 1Cusco - Paucartambo

Ascending to the legendary town of Paucartambo, we will depart Cusco in our minivan. We will stop at the pre-Incan Ninamarca funeral towers on route. The country’s national bird, the Andean cock-of-the-rock (Rupicola Peruvana), as well as monkeys and numerous other bird species may be seen as we take our first journey through this amazing cloud forest, which is home to a variety of plants and stunning orchids. We’ll get at the Bambu lodge that evening, where you’ll stay in a normal ensuite room.

Day 2Atalaya - Madre de Dios

We will take a bus to the port of Atalaya in the morning after breakfast. From there, we will take a motor boat up the Madre de Dios River to the Soga de Oro Lodge (40 minutes ). The river is swimmable. You will witness beautiful sceneries during our excursion. The tropical rain forest’s pleasant climate is something else you’ll appreciate. Afternoon walks through the forest are planned, during which we’ll look for caimans (Caiman Crocodiles), birds, and medicinal plants. We will spend the night at our resort before returning home.
We will spend the night at our resort before returning home.

Day 3Machuwasi Lake

We will have a morning stroll on this day and observe enormous trees, healing herbs, orchids, and some large beasts like tapirs. The largest rodent in the world, the capybara (Hidrochaeris), as well as caymans and birds, will be seen at Lake Machuwasi once we cross the river in the afternoon. We’ll take a stroll through the lush forest at night in search of some common frogs, toads, insects, bats, and snakes. You will be lodged in an ensuite room in a typical lodge where we will spend the night.

Day 4Return Cusco

We will pack our bags and catch the minivan back to Cusco after breakfast.
